Lineman Ltd
Lineman Ltd was formed in August 2006 by
Liz Wilton, to provide web design and graphic design services.
Prior
to founding Lineman, Liz Wilton was a senior interactive designer at
the BBC for 7 years and has BA(hons) in Communication Design. During
this time she designed many websites for BBC Children’s
Interactive, as well as leading the design process on numerous large
projects.
Liz was responsible for running a team
of designers and worked alongside technical and editorial counterparts
to project
manage many of the interactive propositions underway. This includes the
launching of two sites in 2002 to coincide with the BBC’s
launch of two new digital children’s channels, CBeebies and
CBBC.
Liz also sat regularly on a pan-BBC panel of designers to advise on
usability and accessibility standards and guidelines.

To
an often asked question: ‘So why Lineman?’
As an art student, in fact as a very small child, the first,
most basic ‘mark’ you can make is a line or perhaps
a dot (see
Paul Klee for more on that). From there everything
else
grows, into
more
complex lines and the world is made up of those lines. We choose to
interact with them every day and by doing so we create new, more
interesting lines of our own.
Lineman is about
creating new, intriguing lines and exploring unmarked territory, whilst
interacting with these existing lines.
