Since printmaking is a technical area, and many processes require expensive equipment, most designers choose to work with specialist printers. The print shop provides technicians skilled in the process; the designer provides the artwork. The proof is taken for the printer to check the image is printing ok, the designer or client is then asked to check the proof and approve it before the full print run goes ahead.
